Suns FC Goalkeeper Academy is dedicated to developing elite goalkeepers and individuals by providing high-quality training, professional coaching, and a structured pathway for growth. Our mission is to empower goalkeepers with the technical, tactical, physical, and mental skills necessary to excel at all levels of the game.

Head Coach

My name is Carlos Herrera. I started as a goalkeeper in the city of Chihuahua, participating in various state and national tournaments during high school and university. During my career at Tec de Monterrey, I competed in national tournaments organized by CONDDE.

 

I have a degree in International Business from UTEP, hold a third-degree black belt in martial arts, and earned my coaching license from Memo Velasquez's academy—one of the best goalkeeper coaches in Mexico and former goalkeeper coach for Indios de Juárez, Necaxa, Atlético de San Luis, Santos, and Tigres.

My coaching experience began in martial arts, where I taught children, teenagers, and adults for over 15 years. I started as a goalkeeper coach three years ago, participating in academies led by Memo Velasquez and providing private training sessions.

My methodology is based on discipline and respect for each child's individual process, focusing on technique and skill development.

• Location: Galatzan soccer fields - 650 Wallenberg Dr.

• Weekly group sessions held on the following schedule:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays:

    • 5-6PM 2015 - Elite Program

    • 6-7PM 2018 - Youth and Intermediate Programs

• Private coaching available upon request

• Pricing: $60 per month
